RESUMO
O objetivo deste trabalho é contribuir com o entendimento do povoamento
do Agreste Paraibano a partir da lenda de Caricé, cujo enredo narra a história
melancólica de uma virgem nativa
que sofre a saudade de seu amado trovador. O relato é recolhido pelo padre Luiz
Santiago de Moura no início do século XX.

The objective of this work is to contribute to the
understanding of the peopling of Paraíba arid from the legend of Carice, whose
