Resumo
O objetivo do artigo é apresentar a importância do
Patrimônio documental produzido e apreendido pela polícia política de
Pernambuco, para a pesquisa local/nacional, destacando o potencial do acervo
DOPS-PE, como importante fonte de pesquisa sobre a História do Brasil
Republicano, oferecendo um variado nicho informacional para a produção do
conhecimento na construção do fazer historiográfico, permitindo a construção de
novos olhares, percepções, objetos e novas abordagens.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this article
is to present the importance of the documentary heritage produced and
apprehended by the Pernambuco political police for local/national research,
highlighting the potential of the DOPS-PE collection as an important research
source on the Brazilian Republican history, offering a varied informational
niche for the production of knowledge in the construction of historiographic
making, allowing the construction of new looks, perceptions, objects and new
approaches.
